Saturday, June 7, 2014
Time:
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location:

Free with admission. Third in a series of events centered on six different photobook themes.

Nicholas Muellner is an artist whose work lies at the intersection of photography and writing. At this slide presentation, Muellner presents images and narratives from his travels around Pittsburgh. During his one-week residency, Muellner revisited distantly remembered places from childhood trips, as well as new locales assigned by a range of "foreign correspondents"—friends, relatives, and strangers who have passed through Pittsburgh, in fact or imagination. Far from being “documentary” in nature, Muellner’s work finds ways to address the relationship between photography and experience to evoke a distinctive sense of place.

Reception with coffee and cookies to follow.

Registration is recommended as space is limited. Attend all Sandbox events FREE as a member!
