Explore the ecology of the aquatic and terrestrial life stages of mole salamanders!

Join Dr. Kurt Regester, Associate Biology Professor at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, as he explores the history of the most secretive salamanders and talks about their roles in ecosystem energy flow. During his presentation, Regester will talk about the array of adaptations associated with mole salamanders’ reproduction and survival, as well as the decline of amphibian diversity around the world.

Regester earned his PhD in Zoology from Southern Illinois University. Prior to his graduate studies, he worked as an Animal Program Supervisor at the Discovery Science Center and as Curator of Education at the Nashville Zoo in Tennessee. At Clarion, he teaches concepts in zoology, wildlife ecology, population biology, animal behavior, and ornithology. He also instructs the field-based course, “Ecology of Amphibians and Reptiles” at the University of Pittsburgh’s Pymatuning Laboratory of Ecology.
